A new DarienLibrary.org

After a long summer, the new DarienLibrary.org went live this morning.  The new website is running Drupal 6 and SOPAC 2.0.

Josh Hadro has written a very nice article about the particulars of the new social catalog application suite, and Richard Wallis has posted a podcast of a conversation I had with him last week about it.

We’re lucky to have such a great staff here in Darien, all of whom have put a huge amount of effort to making the new site a success.  Thanks guys!

And now, it’s time for a nap!

Congratulations! I have been clicking around on the site, and it looks great!

One smaaaaaall recommendation: change the “Advanced search” button (the one that actually launches the search) to something like “Do Advanced search”… I thought for a milisecond “wasn’t I already on the advanced search pane? oh, wait…” =)

Oh, and whoever was connected to Meebo didn’t answer me thru the widget.. but then again I guess you’re swamped!

Congratulations again!

Congrats! Looks great. Hope you get some time to rest and recover. =)

Let us know when you’re ready to release the code!

High Five John! Let’s see how long it will take to hit the 20.000 user mark!

Congratulations with this achievement. Unofrtunately it’s never finished. You know that.
It’s good to celebrate this milestone though!

Awesome job, John! It looks fantastic! I’m so pleased that you and the administrators at Darien had the vision to design something that will benefit the entire profession.

Hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest.

W00t! x3. Shaking it up again! Sincere kudos.

The site is amazing and so well done. The fact that it will be shared…even better. :) John…you rock!

Congratulations!

Wow, great stuff again - it’s nice to see the OPAC so closely integrated with a website.

Great job! I especially like that you allow people to sign up and tag/review things even if they don’t have a library card. I look forward to seeing how SOPAC works with SirsiDynix.

Bravo! Beauty, function, vision - thanks for leading the way and clearing out the cobwebs.

Excellent! We’ve been waiting to see this. Awesome job!

Same here. And there’s a ton of things like this here, things that you normally have to fight for. Good job, indeed.

Just tell us when you’re ready to release the code. Let’s make it global.

Awesome John! We are looking forward to try SOPAC out here in Brazil.

cheers
