I am very interested in making this work on my library site. We are using Joomla 1.5. Has anyone had any success with integrating SOPAC 2 with Joomla yet?

Hi John,
You said 'The III connector piece uses XRecord and the patron API.' What is Xrecord ? I'm not able to find this module in III product catalog. Moreover, is patron API able to deliver information about checked-out items linked to the patron, renewals, etc. ?
Thank you.
Thierry (from a french library).

Anon,
We indeed do love Open Source and we will release the code very soon now. My plan was to release it shortly after September 1st, but I've been taking the time to fix some of the more critical bugs that have come up, post-launch. Watch this blog for an announcement this week.

Sounds like you need to go to this panel:
Open source software enjoys the rapt attention of libraries. In practice, however, most institutions are better at consuming than producing open source code. Issues that repeatedly arise include:

redundancy (“we can build it better”)
shyness (“my code isn’t perfect”)
competitiveness (“we have an edge we don’t want to lose”)
quirkiness (“our needs are so unique that we’ll ignore any obvious standards”)

WHERE"S THE CODE?
