Walt,
Overall I think you were pretty pragmatic (a very good thing, IMO). I think some of the L2 flap boils down to mis-articulated ideas or viewpoints and misunderstandings. A lot of the argument I've seen simply nibbles around the edge of a shared core vision.

"I doubt Walt meant it to happen, but I believe this latest issue of C&I has served to further legitimize Library 2.0."

My intent was to define the landscape, not necessarily objectively, because it was impossible to synthesize. If the result is to legitimize either the concepts (great) or the term (maybe not so great), that's fine with me--since I really shouldn't be and don't intend to be the one making Important Pronouncements in either case.

That is: If I say "I really hate the term Library 2.0," given that I'm not in a library and not in a position to either implement or block implementation of the concepts, the appropriate answer really would be, "So what?"

So I'm perfectly happy with this response!
