		<description>I have a friend who&#039;d like to re-create HeroMUD, but it&#039;s ridiculously difficult to find any mention of it, since it went away when the world wide web was in it&#039;s early infancy.  All anyone we can find remembers is that it was super hero themed, and that the basic layout of it was built to mirror Ann Arbor.  No one remembers how it worked.</description>

		<description>I remember a classic space trader very well from the BBS days, where you could only fly one or two missions a day, and you had to sit there and watch your progress bar on each mission to be sure you didn&#039;t get hit by pirates.  I remember logging in on the Librarians&#039; computer in high school and flying my missions when I supposed to be doing DIALOG (now there&#039;s a blast from the past) searches.  

I used to play on coppermud in college, but already true to my preferences, it was my sega that primarily ruined my grades.

Heck, John, if we made a second-life library, you think we&#039;d allow Meatspace Melvil along for the ride?  The stacks would self-organize as you typed your search terms, like Merlin&#039;s office on moving day. =)</description>

A second-life library would not be a bad idea at all.  If it had an extensive-enough API to let some real-world daat bubble through, it&#039;d be fantastic.  Imagine browsing stacks in realtime with actual book names on the binding, etc.  I reckon we&#039;d have to write a dewey-engine for that :)</description>
